This position is responsible for coordinating the vetting process for Centerline Logistics and its subsidiaries, ensuring the company remains compliant with customer requirements. This includes coordinating and tracking all scheduling, reporting, analysis, communication, and documentation for companywide vetting processes while working closely with regional Operations, Engineering, HSSQE, and, as necessary, external customers.
Maintain the vessels in a state of readiness to perform work for customers as needed. Perform work as directed by Captain and/or Mate of vessel and assist deckhand/engineer as requested. Prepare and serve meals for vessel crew. Job includes pulling and handling heavy lines, wires, and hoses; working on oil and cargo barges; safely making and breaking tow with barges; general vessel maintenance; and other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
Acts as lead or second in command of the tug and barge. Must be able to understand and carry out the orders and directions of the captain. Must be prepared to assume command in the event of incapacity of the captain. Responsible for safely making and breaking tow with barges, transit locks and bridges during High and low water conditions. Responsible for maintenance and cleanliness of the vessel.
Responsible for all aspects of terminal operations including, but not limited to, the safe and efficient transfer of petroleum products between barges, ships, tanks, trucks and railcars. Creating and submitting of reports to all levels of management within the company as well as to external vendors and customers.
Perform routine maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting on electrical and electronic equipment as directed by the Senior Port Mechanic. Assist Port Mechanics on other duties when not concentrating on electrical repairs.
Acts as second in command of the tug and barge. Must be able to understand and carry out the orders and directions of the Captain. The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: cargo pumps, operate tank/pipeline valves, operate manual and hydraulic booms. Must be prepared to assume command in the event of incapacity of the Captain. Responsible for safely making and breaking tow with barges, handling lines and wires.
Responsible for the safe and efficient transfer of petroleum products between barges, ships, and facilities including completion of bills of lading and gauge reports.
Responsible for maintaining equipment, assisting with special barge projects, and efficiently transferring petroleum products between barges, ships, and facilities.
Coordinate with Port Engineers to assist with scheduling, and performing vessel repair & maintenance on tugs and barges. Work with Port Engineers and Purchasing for approval on purchasing of parts, repair services and supplies. Perform inspections of vessels for repair & maintenance standards and procedures and report findings to Port Engineers. Assist with keeping tugs and barges in compliance with all regulatory agencies. Assist with keeping accurate records of all maintenance performed using company software program.
Perform routine maintenance requirements on a fleet of tugs and barges as directed by the Senior Port Mechanic.
General helpdesk and administrative support duties for the IT department.
The IT department maintains hardware, software and equipment for over 750 employees and over 150 vessels. The Director of IT is responsible for overseeing and managing the Company’s information technology (IT) operations; overseeing the IT support staff; ensuring maintenance of hardware and application software; planning and overseeing of projects and budgets.
Provide support to the Senior Executive Group by assisting with day-to-day activities, scheduling, and phone calls as needed. This role requires superior attention to detail, great organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple urgent requests successfully.
This position is responsible for defining strategy and executing sales, marketing, and business development activities for Harley Marine Services and all subsidiary companies.
