Overview

Responsible for supporting hiring efforts and recruiting initiatives through full-cycle recruitment. Works with recruiter and various hiring managers to achieve staffing objectives through evaluating and vetting candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Updates and maintains applicant tracking system
  • Calling and messaging qualified applicants
  • Determines applicant qualifications by initial phone interviews; analyzing responses; verifying references; comparing qualifications to job requirements.
  • Scheduled interviews for hiring managers
  • Attracts applicants by placing job advertisements; contacting recruiters, using newsgroups and job sites.
  • Prepare replies to potential applicants as needed.
  • Provides status updates on open positions
  • Assist in general clerical duties as assigned, including applicant tracking.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or combination or education and experience.
  • Interviewing Skills, Recruiting, People Skills, Supports Diversity, Knowledge of Employment Law.
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and iCIMS Applicant Tracking preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of maritime transportation industry is a plus.
  • Ability to work with others using courtesy, tact, and good judgment.
  • Professional appearance and telephone manner is essential.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all sensitive communications.
  • Ability to understand and execute complex oral and written instructions.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and communication.
  • Clear understanding of recruitment lifecycle process.
  • Experience with posting advertising and sourcing resumes.

Expected Hours of Work

Normal office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
