Assists the daily operations and strategic objectives of Centerline Logistics’ accounts payable cycle through design, implementation, and maintenance of all accounts payable business functions and procedures for the Accounts Payable disbursement process.


  • Reviews account payable transactions for accuracy, completeness and conformance to policy.
  • Monitors and maintains Purchase Order System to ensure proper coding and approval of invoices.
  • Assists in implementing changes to work assignments, methods, or procedures to meet operational needs, and improve accuracy and efficiency of the accounts payable system.
  • Analyzes resolves and answers complex or difficult problems including account reconciliations.
  • Trains other team members as needed.
  • Assist with various projects for the department.
  • Assist with the month-end accounting close procedures as needed.
  • Assist in the daily processing of invoices.
  • Assist accounts payable on batch postings and other AP duties.
  • Provide ad-hoc assistance to other positions within the department.
  • Provide guidance on maintaining vendor relationships while optimizing DPO.
  • Assist with corporate purchasing card reconciliation and entry.
  • Assist with corporate expense card reconciliation and processing.
  • Perform other duties such as assisting with weekly check run, annual audits and generation of 1099-Misc tax forms.
  • Works in tandem with Purchasing Department with projects and PO related issues.
  • Assist with weekly disbursements. 


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related area AND two years accounts payable or accounting or directly related experience which includes one year supervisory experience, OR, Six years of progressively responsible accounts payable or accounting or directly related experience, OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge skills and abilities have been achieved.
  • Minimum 5 years work experience with direct customer/vendor contact preferred.
  • General knowledge of oil transportation industry preferred.
  • Flexible team player who can adjust to ongoing changes related to company growth.
  • Versatile communicator with the ability to interact with different personalities.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks with minimal or no supervision.
  • Highly organized with ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver assignments on time.
  • High degree of integrity including ability to successfully deal with confidential information.
  • Ability to exhibit poise, composure and confidence when confronting high-pressure situations.
  • Typing: 60 Words per Minute.
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Word and Excel (advanced).
  • Great Plains Accounting Software skills.
  • Coupa procurement and invoice processing software.
  • Ten Key by touch.

Job Condition and Environment

  • Required to sit for long periods of time.
  • Infrequent light physical effort required.
  • Work with computers, fax machines, copiers, telephones.

Expected Hours of Work

  • Normal office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
  • May be required to work overtime based on the department demands and goals.
