Manages all aspects of the accounting teams.
Directly supervise, hire, train and evaluate marine personnel. Conduct Tug Inspections, attend SIRE inspections, and conduct evaluations and navigation audits of Deck Officers via direct observations on board. Develop marine operations and cost control programs for vessels. Assist in new project development, interfacing with customers, etc. Assist in vessel scheduling of personnel as required. Produce weekly Operations reports.
Process multi-state, semi-monthly payroll using ADP, for 500+ union and non-union employees. Prepare reports and resolve payroll discrepancies as needed. Reconcile General Ledger accounts. Responsible for the creation and transmission of union reporting as needed. Provide customer service to employees by answering questions and processing special requests. May assist with new employee setup, garnishments, benefits deductions and direct deposit, etc. Upload and edit vacation, sick and PTO accruals monthly for accuracy and resolve issues. Process reimbursements for expense and educational trainings. May perform other accounting related duties as assigned (AP/AR).
Manage the daily operations and strategic objectives of Centerline Logistics’ accounts payable cycle through design, implementation, maintenance and management of all accounts payable business functions and procedures for the Accounts Payable disbursement process.
Acts as third in command of the tug. Must be able to understand and carry out the orders and directions of the Captain. The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: cargo pumps, assist in operating tank/pipeline valves, operate manual and hydraulic booms. Must be prepared to assume command in the event of incapacity of the Captain.
Maintain the vessels in a state of readiness to perform work for customers as needed. Perform work as directed by captain and/or mate of vessel and assist engineer as requested. Job includes pulling and handling heavy lines, wires, and hoses; working on oil and cargo barges; safely making and breaking tow with barges; general vessel maintenance; and other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

Perform routine maintenance requirements on a fleet of tugs and barges as directed by the General Manager/Port Engineer. Perform inspections of vessels for repair & maintenance standards and procedures. Work with company mechanics as needed.
Maintain the vessel's engine room and equipment in a state of readiness to perform work for customers as needed. Perform start up and shutdown and routine monitoring of vessel power and propulsion systems. Job includes pulling heavy lines and hoses, working on oil and cargo barges, general vessel maintenance, and other tasks that may be assigned from time to time. Perform work as requested by Captain and/or Mate of vessel.
Work on an assigned vessel on a regular equal time schedule and be available to assist engineering and operations on the scheduled time on and off. Work as directed by the Port Engineer.

This job includes pulling heavy lines and hoses, working on oil and cargo barges, general vessel maintenance, and other tasks that may be assigned from time to time. Perform work as directed by Captain and Port Engineers.
